Mail Forwarding... Why Would You Do It?

First of all when you think about tampering with mail such asremailing, forwarding etc. you think "dodgy" or is that legal?Quite simply yes, it is legal but it all depends on what theintent of the service is. I will explain why people need to havea fake mail address.

First of all we need to get some terms stated. I have been inthe business for just over two years and there is still someconfusion over the topic.

Mail forwarding: is a service that allows you to have your mailsent to a "mailbox" and then they will forward it off to yourlocation. This mail is generally sent in bulk to the recipientand is very useful if you travel, or don't have a permanentaddress.

Mail Redirection: is when you have mail sent direct to a mailboxand then it is "remailed" to another location. This is mainlyused by organisations or individuals who wish to keep theirphysical address a secret.

Remailing: is as simple as receiving a letter, re-stamping andaddressing the letter then posting it again. This is pretty muchwhat happens when mail is forwarded or redirected.

Mail Drop: is defined as "an address or place at which anonresident person receives mail, often of a secret nature"(2005) Dictionary.com

So why are there so many names for the same services? It ispretty simple to understand why there are so many names and thatis because the vendors that offer these services are trying toobtain as many hits through search engines as possible, they usephrases such as "forwarding" "redirection" etc. In doing thisthey can confuse the customer and they will not have a clearunderstanding of the services that are available.

What service should I use then? Mail drops are generally themost defined term and are understandably the most common. Idefine Mail Drops as a mailbox that has been purchased

Dictionaries Roll Out New Words
Dictionary publishers don't get too many opportunities for creating PR buzz, but one surefire way of getting some attention is to announce the new words (and new senses of old words) that have been added in the latest update to a particular dictionary. In the past few days there have been new-word announcements for two major dictionaries, one in the US and one in the UK: Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary (11th edition) and the Concise Oxford English Dictionary (also in its 11th edition, coincidentally enough). The other day, my two teenage sons cajoled me into watching a movie they both find tremendously amusing. The film is not new. It's called Kangaroo Jack, and features Christopher Walken playing a small-time thug named Sal. Although Sal is the head of a bumbling crime family, he feels very insecure about his word knowledge, and throughout the film he is seen making a desperate attempt at self-improvement through the use of a tape-recorded vocabulary tutorial. All the vendorsare located in multiple countries; you should take a look attheir country of origin, what privacy laws are enforced there,what is their law enforcement like? Then take a look at thesite. Read their privacy statement, try to understand it. Makesure you fully understand their terms of service. You do notwant to be stuck with a huge fine, or if you're trying to keepyourself anonymous, you don't want to have your privateinformation public. Or worst of all have them read your privatemail!
